These two are more similar to each other than either is to Midjourney or Runway. Both aggregate a large number of third-party models behind one subscription and one studio interface, rather than building their own. The difference is where each one's centre of gravity sits.

Krea is roughly half the price at every comparable step, and covers more categories at each one. That's the straightforward read.

The complication is what Higgsfield's credits buy. Cost per generation swings by model: Kling 3.0 runs about 6 credits, while Sora 2 or Veo 3.1 cost 40–70. So Higgsfield's 1,000-credit Plus plan is either 150 videos or 15, entirely depending on which model you reach for. If you're using it because of Sora and Veo access — which is the reason to choose it — you're on the expensive end of that range by definition.

edge: krea, clearly, on price and breadth. Higgsfield's premium is a model-access fee, and it only pays off if you need those specific models.

things to know before you pick

Aggregators trade peak quality for coverage. Neither will be the best tool in any single category. Midjourney still makes better stills; Runway is still the better production video tool. You're buying breadth, knowingly.

Calculate cost per finished output, per model. Especially on Higgsfield. Pick the model you'd actually use, find its per-generation cost, divide the plan by it. The answers differ by 10x.

Budget for waste. Most AI generations get discarded. Assume three to five times whatever you think you need while you're learning.

Model access is somebody else's decision. Both depend on third-party providers. A model you build a workflow around can be repriced, changed or withdrawn, and neither platform controls that.

Licensing is per-model, not per-platform. With aggregators there's no single answer on commercial rights. If it's going in an ad, check the specific model's terms.
